Sturdy Grrrrl started a meme today, though not on purpose. (I simply read her post today and interpreted it that way.) Her title reminded me of a similar story from years back -- brief and perfectly blogworthy.
So, I walked into a large hardware story once to get some keys made. I wasn't sure where to go, so I approached the information desk. The lady there radioed some guy in the back and then directed me to the other side of the store.
A few minutes later, I was approaching the keymaking area where some borderline-insane-looking older guy stood, expecting my arrival. He had a particularly loud, awkward-sounding voice and excitedly asked, "Are YOU the KEY person?"
His inflection sounded so familiarly funny to me, I couldn't resist ... So, I put on my best "possessed Rick Moranis" tone and replied at his unnaturally loud volume, "Yes! ... Are ... YOU ... the ... GATEkeeper????"
I swear, he gave me one of the weirdest looks I've ever seen. Guess he never saw Ghostbusters.

My kids just watched Ghostbusters the first time over the summer. My daughter is convinced that Rick Moranis is a comic genius. We should all watch Ghostbusters II this week and post about that ...
